In my comments below, I discuss why Personal AI, an enhanced extension of human memory, will address some of the orders and concerns issued this week by the White House. Personal AI is used to amplify memories, messages, and other information for the benefit of its users.
Protect Americans’ privacy by prioritizing federal support for accelerating the development and use of privacy-preserving techniques — including ones that use cutting-edge AI and that let AI systems be trained while preserving the privacy of the training data.
Personal AI’s Personal Language Models (PLMs) use discrete memory indices to organize and access individual memories. Each memory has a unique index for efficient storage and retrieval. This architecture ensures structured organization of memories, giving individuals easier control over their own data.
Furthermore, individuals have complete control over their memories and information within Personal AI. They can add, delete or modify memories as desired. This control enables individuals to manage personal data and preserve privacy. By empowering users and utilizing privacy-preserving techniques like private key management, Personal AI makes privacy a priority.
Irresponsible uses of AI can lead to and deepen discrimination, bias, and other abuses
We agree. Personal AI is committed to addressing the issue of discrimination, bias, and other abuses in AI. We take a multi-faceted approach to implement ethical and unbiased AI models.

As an AI developer and someone who attended three universities, I am excited about integrating AI tools into education. Indiana University recently announced they are implementing Personal AI, and early applications make me very optimistic about its potential. IU has plans to utilize professors’ AI to support students in their learning journey. The professor’s AI will serve as a personalized tutor for students, providing them with tailored guidance and support. This AI-enabled tool will not only assist students during their time in the classroom but also continue to support their education afterwards. By leveraging AI, Indiana University aims to enhance the learning experience for students and ensure they receive ongoing educational support.
Generally, we are thrilled to bring classrooms an AI architecture that actually can learn on individual data sets, rather than pre-trained models.

As an immigrant founder, I strongly believe in leveraging AI to expand the skills of immigrants and nonimmigrants in the field. My own experience as an immigrant founder has shown me the power of AI in unlocking unprecedented experiences and creating innovative solutions. For example, at my previous company Aira, we used AI with human agents to provide assistance to the blind community, enhancing their independence and quality of life. This combination of AI and human expertise allowed us to leverage technology to address a hard human problem.
Similarly, at Personal.ai, we have created a digital extension of anyone’s personal brand using AI, enabling individuals to capture and control their personal essence. This technology can be particularly valuable for immigrants who want to maintain personal relationships and enhance their work relationships and environment, even when they are physically distant from their home country.

They provide clear attribution to the underlying memory (data) for every response from AI models, enabling users to understand and trust the outcomes. Additionally, Personal AIs’ open APIs and access to model and memory data enhances trust and collaboration with the trainers.
Interoperable: Unlike the walled gardens of big tech AI, Personal AI promotes interoperability. It allows users to integrate its technology with other systems and platforms, enabling seamless communication and data exchange. This interoperability empowers users to leverage the benefits of Personal AI across different applications and environments.
Help agencies acquire specified AI products and services faster, more cheaply, and more effectively
There is a clear argument in favor of the cost-effectiveness of Personal Language Models compared to the approach of fine-tuning large language models. PLMs are designed to capture and leverage what a user already knows, which means they can be trained on a user’s personal data, such as emails, documents, and messages, without the need for extensive fine-tuning on specific tasks or domains. This reduces the time and resources required for training and deployment. In contrast, the fine-tuning LLM approach involves taking a pre-trained large language model and fine-tuning it on specific tasks or domains, which can be a time-consuming and resource-intensive process.
It is clear to us that the PLM approach is aligned with both customers, our values of privacy, attribution, and ownership, and it is more scalable, personalized, and cost effective (therefore, more environmentally efficient). This week’s executive order also indicates that our approach is aligned with where regulation is heading.
